His Setups may be Tin Foil, But His Punchlines are Platinum!" — Vince Morris Gerry Gobel has been doing stand-up for over three decades — what he calls "off-beat and darkly comedic," and what audiences have called "self-deprecating, profound, and slightly psychotic." One of the funniest comedians you've never heard of, in the tradition of Hicks, Carlin, and Bruce. He cut his teeth in improv with National Velveeta and ImprovAble Cause before starting stand-up at Crackers Comedy Club in Indianapolis in the '90s. He's performed with Ron White, Billy Gardell, Stewart Huff, Vince Morris, Ron Shock, and Donnie Baker, and headlines rooms across the Midwest — comedy clubs, theaters, and at least one bowling alley. As "Minister of Comedy" for the 1st Church of Cannabis during their legal battle with the State of Indiana, he oversaw content creation and spent four years producing and starring in livestreamed shows like The Canna Film Festival, Canna City Limits, and The Comedy Grinder — livestreaming comedy before it was cool. These days Gerry headlines his own specialty show, THE CULT SHOW — a comedy show disguised as a cult meeting — and runs the Crackers Stand-Up Comedy Writing Workshop, whose alumni include Donnie Baker, Troy Davis, and Otto the Comic. He ran Crackers' open mic for years, coaching the next generation of Indy comics.
